The most generous kitchens we build are rarely the largest. Generosity is a 48-inch walkway where two people pass without turning, an island that seats the whole family on one side, and enough planned storage that the counters stay clear. Scale helps, but planning does the real work. A modest room with the right clearances beats a big room with the wrong ones.
